If you are a UK medical trainee and would like access to the ePortfolio, this will be granted once you have completed your enrolment with JRCPTB. For further information please see Enrolment. Failing to enrol with JRCPTB will result in your ePortfolio account being locked.
All access queries should be directed to your local deanery/HEE local office, postgraduate centre or trust administrators. The JRCPTB ePortfolio team supports these administrative staff across the UK to help with technical problems that cannot be resolved locally.
Access for medical trainees
If you have been appointed to a GMC approved programme in CMT or a specialty training post you will be given access to the ePortfolio. It is a mandatory requirement for trainees to ensure they are fully enrolled with the JRCPTB as failure to enroll will result in ePortfolio access being restricted.
Your ePortfolio account will be set up locally by your deanery/HEE local office administrator. If you haven’t been registered with an ePortfolio account, a new account will be created and you will be issued a username and password. You must activate your account by logging onto the JRCPTB ePortfolio.
You are expected to take full responsibility for keeping your ePortfolio up-to-date. Your ePortfolio data will be reviewed at ARCPs and by the JRCPTB in overseeing training and making recommendations for a CCT. You should contact your local deanery/HEE local office or postgraduate centre administrator as your first point of call for any amendments to your ePortfolio account.
If you have any technical queries about your account please use the help and support tab within the ePortfolio to ask for assistance.
Access for non-training doctors
Non-Consultant Career Grade (NCCG), Staff and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors, doctors in service grades and trust appointed International Medical Graduates (IMG) are able to use the JRCPTB ePortfolio.
The ePortfolio can be a useful tool to collect evidence of achieving competencies against the UK curricula. This could be particularly valuable for doctors wanting to join a training programme in the future or who may want to apply for CESR (certificate of eligibility to the specialist register) to get their training recognised and enable them to get onto the GMC specialist register.
As a non-training doctor, you will need to register your details with us and pay an annual fee to use the ePortfolio. Please download and complete the application form and return this to the ePortfolio team for processing. The annual fee for ePortfolio access is subject to annual increase.
There are different application forms for overseas IMG doctors appointed directly by the Trust and for SAS UK based doctors. It is imperative that you complete the correct application form and submit this to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once your application form has been received, we will create an ePortfolio account for you and send you an invoice by email. Only when this invoice has been paid will you be able to access your ePortfolio. Full details of how to pay this invoice will be included on the invoice. Please be sure to check your junk folder should you not receive the invoice and confirmation of ePortfolio creation in 10 business days.
In order to comply with UK law we cannot accept credit/debit card details sent in emails/via the contact form on this website, either in the body text or as attachments. If you do send card details in this manner it is entirely at your own risk. Card details received in emails or as attachments will be immediately deleted and payments will not be actioned. Once you have submitted your application form and have received your invoice via email, you will be directed to PayPal to make a payment. Should you have any issues with this process, please call the ePortfolio team on 020 3075 1440, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm.
We do not provide ePortfolio access for Foundation level doctors.
One year access currently costs £169. Payment and application must be received before a user account is provided. Please note local deanery administrators are not permitted to give access to doctors in a non-training post.
Only JRCPTB has the right to give access upon registration, failing to register and pay the ePortfolio subscription fee will result in ePortfolio accounts being locked.
It will be the doctor's responsibility to make sure that their ePortfolio is kept updated.
Please read the guidance policy before submitting your application Policy guidance for non training doctor's access to ePortfolio.pdf
