Designed by the Federation of Royal Medical Colleges and the Royal College of Anaesthetics, IMPACT (Ill Medical Patients' Acute Care & Treatment) is a two-day course introducing the principles and practice of acute medical care and related knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes.  IMPACT has been successfully running throughout the UK since 2004. IMPACT is intended to improve patient safety by enhancing the skills of doctors managing acute medical admissions.
