The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK is pleased to announce the launch of a new set of quality criteria for General Internal Medicine (GIM) and Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) registrars, to be implemented from 1 August 2018. This builds on the learning and success of quality criteria for core medical training in 2015.

The new quality criteria for General Internal Medicine (GIM) and Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) Registrars were officially launched on Wednesday 7 March 2018.

Following the recent legal case of Dr Bawa Garba and the use of reflection, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges has announced they will work together with the General Medical Council, the Academy Trainee Doctors Group, the BMA’s Junior Doctors Committee and the Conference of Post-Graduate Medical Deans (COPMeD) to produce a single reflective practice guidance document for doctors in training.
