Medical Registrar analysis of General Internal Medicine training
In 2015, a pilot survey was undertaken as part of the GMC’s National Trainee Survey whereby, trainees who declared they were dual training in one of the following specialties, Gastroenterology, Geriatric Medicine, Renal Medicine or Respiratory Medicine together with General (Internal) Medicine were asked 12 additional questions relating to their training in General (Internal) Medicine.
1750 trainees declared themselves to be dual training in General (Internal) Medicine as specialty two in the following first specialties, 1655 (95% of whom completed the remaining survey questions. A report on the survey findings has been published.
